Icko

Beautiful day outside, I may feel like something the neighbors cat brought in (ours stay in)! Think it's food poisoning; I ate at a questionably clean eatery yesterday and almost declined the food, guess I should follow my instincts, huh? My nephew is up visiting, I'm sure I'm a barrel of fun. Joan is still home and is hanging out with him, but she is exhausted, so I figured since I'm home anyway... We're going to sit outside for bit, he can play while I sit and watch. We went for a walk but I had to hurry home so from here on, I figured I should stay pretty close to home. Sounds exciting, huh! What is exciting is that my brother will be on-line in a couple of hours and we can chat! Same brother happens to be my nephew's dad from Bosnia...We can hardly wait!!! For now it's some more rest! I being sick...Especially on a gorgeous day! It would be much more fun if I could simply be off work and enjoy the day healthy! TTFN

Confusion...

Ok,not sure what happened to my last 2 posts...but they are gone! Well, not a lot happened it was just stuff. Most exciting was Joan coming home for break this week, Sam's drum lessons starting to really take off, Tater's football season is over, it ended on a great note with a one handed awesome tackle that could have been in the weeks replays on TV (for the record, I missed it and have heard about it from everyone else...I was busy working concession and the preacher working with me was so excited about the game and the play he blocked my view!!! Boy did he feel bad when he started hearing the kids name announced numerous times!) Lizard is immersed in student council and sports...it's just crazy. Oh, we had my niece and nephew visit for the weekend, that was kind of fun, but I did forget how much work it was with little ones. My nephew and niece did assist with an entry, my niece's was kind of garbled, but she did spell bye, bye with assistance (most of what both she and her brother wrote were notes to dad to tell him about football and how much they miss him while he is on tour and to mom to say they were REALLY good). Had fun today, the phones were out at the office AGAIN!!! I did get a ton of work done. My kids call my cell 'cause they are in Lafayette looking for the dentist and can't find it so they came to the office to have me show them. As I am racing out, I'm using my cell to call the dentist to hold the appointment as I ran around the corner there was someone standing there, I was able to stop in time so I didn't knock the volunteer over...however, I only stopped because I was on my BUTT!!! I took off still yapping to my dentist office with a gal chasing me asking if everything was ok (all but my pride!). Out the door and to the dentist I go. I shoot up the stairs to the dentist, it's in a restored historical building with the original steps and guess what happens? Yep, down she (me) went again only this time I had my hand on the door and stopped myself, kind of. Joan is outside thinking I'm screwing around with her, I'm on the inside with my ARM STUCK IN THE MAIL SLOT looking like I'm waving to the folks outside! Well, at least I didn't fall all the way and we all got a good laugh out of it. I laughed so hard I was crying by the time I returned to the office and was explaining it to some ladies...who I THOUGHT were aware of the first fall. The joke was further on me...they didn't see, were just worried because I was going full tilt out of the building while talking on the phone. In other words, I told on myself. Oh well, it was too funny and everyone deserves a good laugh. Somehow this seemed funnier earlier today. Well, I'm a bit sore and all, think I'll retire now and try to get some rest! 'Night to all out there!!!

Wow, how time flies!

blk;klohjoj;oytuuuuuuu This is an entry from my very special niece...Hi CJ!!!! Can't believe it's been about a week! Joaners home for break, noticed she hasn't done her laundry, guess I may be nice and pitch in! She's had a nice time catching up with the BF, fam and friends. Tater finished up football season, awesome one handed tackle (way to go kiddo!!!)and just a great all around game. He already misses it so much we headed to the big city to catch his cousin's game and had a nice visit with various family members who love down there. We were going to hit the local adult team championship tonight but as Lizard was pretty sick (and I'm a wimp when it's cold out there)we settled for hilarious movie and some fam time. Headin' south tomorrow for a several hours to visit more family and possibly a bit of Christmas shopping...Who knows, we may even hit another of the kids cousins basketball game...I hear EM is playing tomorrow PM...But only if Lizard is feeling better. So far, not looking so good! Sam is working on his paper, trying to finish it up so he can sell some adds and get it published by next week. Have a guest typer: poewtf;gfhg;hglflgnrhjntjkhtglfk...Is that awesome or what? Hi CJ!!! WooHoo

Big week ahead! Good luck to the best candidate for a particular job (have another friend who is job hunting)...You'll kick the competitions butts and do great!!! Hubby was in 7th heaven, all his football predictions (which were totally biased and based on favorites) came true, that is for College Ball, he was a bit off on the highschool predictions, but in all fairness, he DIDN'T know anything about one team so his prediction was based on home team favorite. Tater and I went to see a movie after 'Mass, it was pretty fun and very reminiscent of movies I saw as a kid (and they were old back then ). It was Sky Captain, or something like that. We had a great day and then rushed home to read our books we had purchased while waiting for the movie to start. I'm actually anxious to get back to mine, which may be a bit over my head as I am TOTALLY confused right now! Good luck to CW again, think positive thoughts and surely it will come true!!!

Peace and quiet...

Quick week, annoying children...ok, that was meant for the one looking over my shoulder and placing cold objects on my neck. Oh look, he left! Quick updates, found the snake, we were all wimps, except for Noah, who had to grab the snake, because he is the coolest guy in the entire world, wait I take that back, the entire universe (oh and by the way, this is definitely not Noah talking). Of course not, I just had an anonymous guest writer, and it wasn't the one that left a moment ago...This one came up when I was working on the football hotwings, which I hear (from sniffling noses) are pretty hot! Ask the rest of us present for the REAL story on the snake, I'll go with the statement that we were ALL wimps...and NO ONE grabbed the snake, we did recover the snake and he is happily home--in his cage, with a secured lid! It's a beautiful and quiet day here, weather, home life and football--it's all good (family's favorite team is playing, has an excellent game going on, our kid's school is moments from winning an excellent game--for the record, she no longer feels the family's favorite team is her favorite team SINCE WE BEAT THEM LAST WEEK, ok that was mean, but kind of fun! That's why Jeff likes teasing her so much!). Congratulations to my friend SJ who just made a promotion at work!!! Way to go!!! We'll leave it at that and hope you all are having a WONDERFUL day!!! Keep the peace and hello to all... For the record, my dear friend SD, even with home field advantage and huge crowd, Jeff says we'll win..he also mentioned something about going to see you soon, so watch out, you may have a crowd visiting soon!!! I would love it! Back to the game!

What a...

You fill that part in. Weekend was all that I had expected and then some. Was set for the game Thursday, hubby forgot to come back and pick me up! I'll go with the assumption that he was subconsciously thinking of my well-fare in the cold weather and not that he didn't REALLY want to spend time with me. So, instead for fun, I was able to bathe that dog. Woohoo!!! Friday our Varsity team had an exciting game, all though I was a bit worried at first given that the kick off was returned for an 86 yard TD. Not as bad as the ND/PU kick off return for 100 yards, but nerve racking none the less!!! Ended out in our favor (which is why I am willing to write about it!). Saturday/Sunday brought the 3 on 3 tourney, very busy, but a GREAT experience for the kids. I took the team up (after breakfast and errands) for their games. Lost the games, but still had fun. Spent the day between and around games and back home for the team slumber party and prep for the next day. Hubby took the kids up on Sunday for me... and me, well, I ATTEMPTED to make it to a friend's son football game. Key word, attempt. Arrived at the college, after a 3 hour drive, to find out that there was no game there. As I don't know what hubby did with the schedule, not sure if this was my error or if the schedule said this (somehow the evidence has disappeared!). Located the game on the radio; figured out where the game was, close enough, so I headed (after all it was in the direction of home!). The school wasn't nearly as easy to find as I had been told, so I showed up for the last minute of the game. Too embarrassed to show my face of course (ok, I wasn't emotionally up to being laughed at...at that moment) so I saw the last few seconds of the game (I had to park you know!). On the up side, I got to hear some really great things about this young man on the radio. I have always felt that he was under utilized, under trained and not pushed by the department. Find out that this coach has seen his promise and really started working with AW. He has really (or at least sounded like) begun to turn into the player he always had the potential to be! He looks great, slimmer, trimmer and a lean, mean fighting machine. Really proud of the guy! Headed home (boy was hubby ticked when I told him of my fun for the day--maybe it was because he had to spend 1.5 hours in charge of 4 girls, it might have done it for me that day!). Let's just say this chapter is closed for now. I do find the humor in it now that my butt has recovered! LB was over, her dog had gotten out and caused a ruckus, the neighbor called the dog in as an aggressive animal because HER (as in the neighbor)dog had scratched the screen to get out at Laddy!! Can you imagine the audacity? Anywho, the end result was that the dog was at the dog pound and cost $300 to get out...But the pooch was determined NOT to be aggressive, the neighbor a nuisance and the old dog is home! Very happy. Expensive happy for the family but happy! Good news at work, vindication for a loyal employee, unfortunately it was on her last day. So the news also managed to leave a very bitter taste in my mouth. Speaking of work: On the up side--I just found out that one of the employee's daughter is studying in another country and is on her way to becoming a Religious Leader. I am so incredibly impressed with this gals determination, efforts and dedication to her faith. Very proud and pleased for both she and her family...AND she blogs! I've been promised her address so I will go ahead and try (operative word here) to figure out how to insert a link! I have 2 others blogs that would be of interest to you, my friends, so now I have a goal and a time frame!! On the Down side--My friend and co-worker is doing very poorly and the doctors have stated there is no hope and are providing comfort measures only. Please pray for both her and her family. She is an incredible lady, an incredible friend and an incredible member of this race we call human. Ok, now I can't write any more. Just please pray. Love to all...
