Can it get better? Probably, but it's pretty great now!

Things are crazy, hmmm, what's new. Tater's off crutches, still hobbling around, but done with the crutch. Here we were worried about the Lizard being the one to get hurt. She's so much smaller and up against the boys in the same position. Go figure, it was the boy. He's lapped up the attention and ended up having a bit of fun...hey at least he found a positive! Now, let's see him get back into the game! Lizard is on to her last game on Thursday...has been doing a decent job and learned a lot. It's been difficult for her but she has definitely held her own with the boys. That's my girl!!! Joaner is working on mid-terms and then home for October break next week. Sam on break this week, but with being in two different schools, he only has afternoons off this week. Bummer for him! He started working AM's and has to leave at 3:30 AM, but hey, at least his day is over by the time he finishes school up, has money for spending, paint ball and college. What more could he want! Wow, the kids are growing up fast! Start a part time job on Wednesday night (I'll be yawning on Thursday) but I should be making enough to pay for the kids activities and maybe a bit of fun. W/O raises for so long and 2 kids in college, we went through savings and are now using credit. This should help. All four of the kids work for spending money and to help with college (they are the best) and hubby works a part-time through 4 months out of the year (that's about all he can afford time wise). Hope I can handle it, I stopped working two jobs about 2 years ago because (silly me) I thought I was going to get a raise with a promotion. Good thing I love the people I work with, otherwise it would be difficult to go to work everyday. How many people can say that, not only do I love the people I work with, but I really like my job. So it doesn't pay well, I need to be happy for what I have! Remember to show and or tell those you love, those who make your day special how you feel...in case words fail you...actions speak louder than words. My co-workers (and some former co-workers) are my favorite people. From the moment I hit the front door to the moment I leave, I'm greeted by and surrounded by some pretty wonderful people. Between family, friends and co-workers, I am truly blessed!!! TTFN

Your Ass, Your Ass

Being technologically challenged leads to lots of oops...this last one being I don't know what happened to my last entry! Life continues, days go by, I can't say it's ever the same...but I have another story... The sisters are on vacation, well kind of sorta, at the memorial service for their grandpa, just like he wanted, a year after he passed. The guys (hubbies) have remained home to take care of the younger kids while the older kids, you know the ones that can fend for themselves, forage for food, call 911, yeah those kids, they got to go. Good thing these kids can fend for themselves...I think in this family you may have to be born being able to fend for yourself! Not much sympathy here! As we don't want to reveal true identities, we'll call them Angie, Kelli and Amy, oldest to youngest. The A's in the family are off for a swim with the kids while Miss Kelli, who doesn't enjoy swimming but is anal about her appearance decided to go ahead and get ready. She comes down to the pool to let the sisters know it's time to get ready and herd the kids off to their grandma's room so she can finish getting ready and the sisters can start. Kelli's darling neice runs to hug, soaking the adorable outfit through. In her good humor, she laughs it off and sends the kids on their way. In the room, the sisters do what sisters do best. Laugh, talk and play with hair and makeup. Knowing they have to get ready, Angie hits the shower, Amy irons clothes and Kelli takes care of her unexpectedly wet clothes. Not wanting to change clothes (after all the outfit she has on was fantastic I hear), Kelli tries the hair dryer route. The girls get serious. Angie steps out of the bathroom as Amy comes from the livingroom. "Hey what's that smell?" "What the hell???" OMG, OMG, Kelli, your ass, your ass!!!!! Kelli is hopping and jumping and smacking her butt, the three are disolving to giggles, their mom walks in with kids in tow and dad on her heals (they are rather loud after all). Dad takes one look, shakes his head and takes the boys with him muttering something about women, idiots and he doesn't even want to know. Mom, being a mom, is horrified, but being one of the girls herself immediately finds the humor in it and is laughing herself. Kelli, and she really is a bright person, I mean it,had as mentioned used the hair dryer to dry herself off, what's a little steam...it was definitely good for some laughs and comments about smoke signals, being hot (she is single) and the such. Ensuring that the men/boys were gone, Kelli unzips and starts checking for damage...about that time the room is silent. The carnage was in view and the story clearly understood. Kelli had put the hair dryer on turbo and placed it between her capris and her nylon panties (soaked to the skin mind you) to dry. She had litterally started her panties on fire and they had melted to the inside of her pants! She had some minor burns as a result of the exessive heat (nothing serious, so not to worry), the panites were toast and the capries, well, they are still serviceable. After checking to ensure all is good, Kelli rezips and announces she's good and if one person says even one word evey story from history is up for outing. Mom and sisters are shocked, talking at once...you can't wear that, checking to ensure she is really ok, giggling, teasing, harrassing, full blown hysterics of giggles. She will, she is, more threats. It only took one more thing, one tiny, left over puff of smoke and they were all on the floor, hysterics again. Sobering for the somber occassion, their only chance was seperation. The ladies all sat seperately, trying to avoid eye contact. It was bound to happen. Amy made eye contact with Angie, the giggles start, the aunties are scandalized, Kelli explains to her male cousin who is next to her what is going on so he won't think her sisters are heartless or cold and to hopefully eliminate chance of further scandal. She immediately realizes her mistake. In a strangled whisper she's begging him not to tell, he says exactly what her sisters did...this one was too good to pass up. Before the memorial service is halfway over, the giggles are through out, grandma is horrified--this is her dearly beloved after all...until the story came to her... The service takes a turn to humor and no one is really sure it ever finished. Kelli swears she's never going back, with out a lot of dirt...and may we suggest extra clothing...
