What a...
You fill that part in. Weekend was all that I had expected and then some. Was set for the game Thursday, hubby forgot to come back and pick me up! I'll go with the assumption that he was subconsciously thinking of my well-fare in the cold weather and not that he didn't REALLY want to spend time with me. So, instead for fun, I was able to bathe that dog. Woohoo!!! Friday our Varsity team had an exciting game, all though I was a bit worried at first given that the kick off was returned for an 86 yard TD. Not as bad as the ND/PU kick off return for 100 yards, but nerve racking none the less!!! Ended out in our favor (which is why I am willing to write about it!). Saturday/Sunday brought the 3 on 3 tourney, very busy, but a GREAT experience for the kids. I took the team up (after breakfast and errands) for their games. Lost the games, but still had fun. Spent the day between and around games and back home for the team slumber party and prep for the next day. Hubby took the kids up on Sunday for me... and me, well, I ATTEMPTED to make it to a friend's son football game. Key word, attempt. Arrived at the college, after a 3 hour drive, to find out that there was no game there. As I don't know what hubby did with the schedule, not sure if this was my error or if the schedule said this (somehow the evidence has disappeared!). Located the game on the radio; figured out where the game was, close enough, so I headed (after all it was in the direction of home!). The school wasn't nearly as easy to find as I had been told, so I showed up for the last minute of the game. Too embarrassed to show my face of course (ok, I wasn't emotionally up to being laughed at...at that moment) so I saw the last few seconds of the game (I had to park you know!). On the up side, I got to hear some really great things about this young man on the radio. I have always felt that he was under utilized, under trained and not pushed by the department. Find out that this coach has seen his promise and really started working with AW. He has really (or at least sounded like) begun to turn into the player he always had the potential to be! He looks great, slimmer, trimmer and a lean, mean fighting machine. Really proud of the guy! Headed home (boy was hubby ticked when I told him of my fun for the day--maybe it was because he had to spend 1.5 hours in charge of 4 girls, it might have done it for me that day!). Let's just say this chapter is closed for now. I do find the humor in it now that my butt has recovered! LB was over, her dog had gotten out and caused a ruckus, the neighbor called the dog in as an aggressive animal because HER (as in the neighbor)dog had scratched the screen to get out at Laddy!! Can you imagine the audacity? Anywho, the end result was that the dog was at the dog pound and cost $300 to get out...But the pooch was determined NOT to be aggressive, the neighbor a nuisance and the old dog is home! Very happy. Expensive happy for the family but happy! Good news at work, vindication for a loyal employee, unfortunately it was on her last day. So the news also managed to leave a very bitter taste in my mouth. Speaking of work: On the up side--I just found out that one of the employee's daughter is studying in another country and is on her way to becoming a Religious Leader. I am so incredibly impressed with this gals determination, efforts and dedication to her faith. Very proud and pleased for both she and her family...AND she blogs! I've been promised her address so I will go ahead and try (operative word here) to figure out how to insert a link! I have 2 others blogs that would be of interest to you, my friends, so now I have a goal and a time frame!! On the Down side--My friend and co-worker is doing very poorly and the doctors have stated there is no hope and are providing comfort measures only. Please pray for both her and her family. She is an incredible lady, an incredible friend and an incredible member of this race we call human. Ok, now I can't write any more. Just please pray. Love to all...
