Reflections, Blessings, Balls

August already...Almost time for the kids to go back to school! As I reflect, the summer has gone so quickly, we've been so busy with school and athletic activities not to mention (which I am) life in general, we haven't gotten away once. Seems like every time we had something planned, something of great importance occurred or there were no funds. We're trying to save up for a vacation to New York at Thanksgiving, but between car repairs, college tuition, expenses for school and general living expenses, that money is slim. Funny thing is that I just know we will have a wonderful time and all will go well. Got the youngest signed up for school, upgraded her schedule and I think she just might be challenged. I'm kind of excited to see her get into it. She's been a bit bored the past couple of years, but even she is looking forward to this new school year with greater excitement than usual. My sister returned home, so for the first time in 3 years we have all of the siblings on the same continent and no one on foreign soil in active combat. It's a good feeling and we all feel so blessed. Another blessing, all though sadder and will cause some lasting feelings of loss. Our friend, the one Liz was especially close to, passed away this week. It is a blessing as she is no longer in pain but has gone home but she will be dearly missed. The Colt World Series is in full swing right now so we are busy enjoying this lovely time of year. Thus far the weather has been great and the games most excellent. We look forward to several more nights of games and time with friends. All in all, even if we haven't gotten to do much, this summer has been rather nice, we've been especially blessed and are looking forward to some hectic fun with the start of the ball season for the Fall next week. I can't believe it's all starting, but it is! Off to the ball park!!! I'm rooting for Puerto Rico and Hoosier North, but I'd also like to see Greensboro win...But as I know more of the kids on the Puerto Rico team, I think I'll have to stick with them (ahhh, who am I kidding...My family hates me going as I cheer for all of the teams and love all the good plays no matter who makes them...I also groan for any team when they make an error...I just like to watch and have fun!). I'm so fickle!
